The Surety Culture

Our children’s services are delivered within a Psychologically Informed Framework (Chrysalis). All staff are trained to understand the young person’s psychological development and the impact of any adverse experiences, particularly how this affects their current coping and relationships with carers, peers and the staff team.

We understand each young person through an individualised psychological formulation, produced in collaboration with them. This guides our interactions with them, being more attuned to their state and needs. All interactions are regarded as important, but some are significant and will be the focus of reflection by all involved. Regular evaluation of these relationships, or Therapeutic Alliance, is a feature of the work at Surety care.

Within Surety Care, all staff receive training in how to work within this Psychologically Informed Environment. This includes knowledge, skills, and reflective practice, supported by regular supervision and with the ongoing support of management to ensure their wellbeing and sense of psychological safety.

All staff complete a comprehensive Induction on joining and go on to complete a probationary period monitored by the Registered Manager through supervision, mentoring and appraisal. Training and development continue after the probationary period and will be a feature of staff experience during their time with Surety care.
